Big news out of the Bun: we just crossed 4 million domains under management. 🎉 That’s 4 million individual decisions to build something online, and 4 million reasons we’re feeling extremely grateful right now. Here’s the rundown.
TL;DR
- We now manage 4+ million domains, up from 3 million in just under a year.
- Our growth is accelerating: 7 years to hit 1 million, 2 years for the second, ~15 months for the third, and 9 months for the fourth.
- Those 4 million domains belong to more than 750,000 customers who have chosen the bun for their domains.
- We’re still the #1 domain registrar with Forbes Advisor and USA Today, plus a 4.8 Trustpilot rating from more than 25,000+ reviews.
- We’re not slowing down!
The climb kept getting steeper
Milestones used to take years, now they take months. Our first million domains under management took seven years to achieve. Our second took two years, then the third million took about 15 months.
Getting to four million domains under management took nine months.
Whichever way you slice that curve, it’s pointing up and to the right, and it keeps getting steeper.
Who’s registering domains at Porkbun?
Here’s the part we’re proudest of: it’s you!
The secondary stat, that those domains are registered by 750,000 customers, makes the first more important. 4 million domains belonging to a handful of big clients or a large reseller network wouldn’t feel the same. While we have customers of all types, from big to small, we are proud that our reach extends to so many people and our customers average ~ 5 domains per account.
We’re so thankful to each and every one of our customers for choosing Porkbun for their domains. Without you, we wouldn’t have hit this milestone. Thank you, from the bottom of our piggy hearts, and please, please keep telling your friends!
Some Porkbun recognition we’re proud of
We don’t just say we’re doing something right, other folks are backing it up:
- Forbes Advisor ranked us the #1 registrar for 2025 and 2026.
- USA Today has kept us at #1 since its rankings launched in 2023.
- Trustpilot reviewers gave us a 4.8 average across more than 25,000 reviews, the best of any major registrar.
Straight from the source
“Every million comes faster than the last, and that’s because our customers keep telling their friends,” said Raymond King, Porkbun’s CEO. He added that hitting these numbers matters less as a stat and more as proof that real builders are putting their domains to work.
Bruno Panara of Google Registry chimed in too, pointing out that Porkbun’s growth speaks to strong adoption within the developer community, particularly around .app and .dev domains.
We’re building more than a domain list
Domains are the foundation, but we’ve kept adding to what sits on top of it. At-cost pricing still applies across .com, .org, .dev, .app, .ca, and most of our domain extensions. Every eligible domain from Porkbun comes with free domain features like WHOIS Privacy, SSL certificates, web and email hosting trials, and so much more.
Beyond domain names, we also offer you a wide range of web hosting and email hosting solutions so you can have everything in one place. For example, have you checked out our Cloud Hosting for WordPress? It’s backed by WP Cloud (the same folks behind WordPress.com), and includes a free AI site builder to help you go from idea to live site even faster.
And we are the only low-priced registrar that has real customer support reachable 365 days a year via phones, not to mention the chat and 24/7 email support. Other big names have phone support too, but they charge you more than 2x the price.
New around here? Here’s why so many people choose Porkbun as their registrar.
Thank you for choosing Porkbun for your domains
None of this happens without the people actually building on top of it: developers, small business owners, hobbyists, and everyone in between who decided Porkbun was worth trusting with their slice of the internet. We see every one of those 4 million domains as somebody’s project, and we don’t take that lightly.
Given how fast these milestones keep arriving, we won’t be waiting long to write the next one of these! Thanks for making that a good problem to have.
