Porkbun is dedicated to keeping registrant information private and secure. When the law or a valid request requires us to share information, we handle those disclosures carefully and in accordance with applicable laws and compliance policies. Before submitting a disclosure request to Porkbun, please review the guidelines below.
If you need to contact a registrant, Porkbun provides an online form for this purpose. Messages submitted through the form are forwarded to the registrant’s email address on file without revealing personal data.
We recommend using this option before requesting disclosure, as it often resolves issues or allows delivery of legal correspondence without requiring access to registrant information. For detailed instructions, see our support article: How to contact a Porkbun registrant.
Porkbun will disclose registration data in response to a valid subpoena or court order issued by a court with jurisdiction over Sherwood, Oregon, USA. Such requests should be sent to legal@porkbun.com.
Filing a civil action involving a domain name does not require prior access to registrant data. After a case has been filed, a subpoena or comparable court order related to that proceeding may be used to request disclosure from Porkbun. Porkbun should not be named as a defendant solely for the purpose of obtaining registrant information.
Porkbun complies with lawful requests from U.S. law enforcement when supported by a valid subpoena, warrant, or court order. Send such requests to legal@porkbun.com.
Requests from agencies outside the U.S. are reviewed individually under our data-protection and legitimate-interest standards. Non-law-enforcement issues should be reported to abuse@porkbun.com.
When a UDRP or URS proceeding is initiated, Porkbun cooperates with the ICANN approved dispute resolution provider and shares the relevant registrant data through that process. Registrant data is not required in advance to file a UDRP or URS complaint; the dispute provider obtains the necessary information directly through the established procedure.
If your disclosure request relates to an urgent situation (such as an imminent threat to life, serious bodily harm, risk to critical infrastructure, or child protection concern), please state “EMERGENCY DISCLOSURE REQUEST” in the email subject line.
Your submission must include:
Any requests that do not fit the descriptions listed above can be submitted to legal@porkbun.com. Each request will be carefully considered on a case-by-case basis.
All disclosure decisions are made at Porkbun’s discretion, consistent with applicable law and our data protection obligations. Porkbun may decline or restrict future requests from parties who misuse the disclosure process, submit false or misleading information, or otherwise act in bad faith. If corrective action is taken, Porkbun will notify the requestor in writing.
Porkbun documents and, where applicable, communicates how the rights and freedoms of the data subject were balanced against the legitimate interests asserted by the requestor.
Requests for disclosure of registration data must be submitted in writing to legal@porkbun.com. Each request must include:
Porkbun acknowledges properly formatted requests within two (2) business days, and provides a response or decision within thirty (30) calendar days, unless exceptional circumstances apply. Responses are delivered by email to the address provided by the requestor.
If a disclosure request is denied in whole or in part, Porkbun will provide a written explanation identifying the specific reason(s) for the denial (e.g., legal, contractual, or privacy grounds). Where applicable, the explanation will describe how the rights and freedoms of the data subject were weighed against the requestor’s stated interests.
