We’re celebrating 1 million domains on the Bun!
Porkbun first opened its virtual doors in 2015. Now seven years later, we’ve grown to a community of over 200,000 customers. Today, we’re pleased to announce there are over one million domains currently registered at Porkbun! To celebrate, we’ve designed a one-of-a-kind commemorative shirt and hooded jacket featuring some of our staff’s favorite Buns from the over 500 domain name extensions we carry.
As part of our celebrations, we’re giving away 10 of these specialty shirts on Twitter from now until June 3. To find out more, and enter for your chance to win, click the link below!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Portland, OR, (May 26, 2022) — Porkbun, an Oregon-based domain name registrar, announced today that it has surpassed one million domains under management. Porkbun was founded in March of 2015 and has accumulated over two hundred thousand customers. Porkbun’s consistently low retail prices coupled with its superior user interface and customer support have led to a rapid accumulation of customers and domains in recent years.
Porkbun CEO Raymond King praised his staff as the key to Porkbun hitting the one million mark. “We knew this day was coming, but one million still feels pretty unreal. Our success is due to the amazing team we’ve put together over the last seven years. As we’ve grown our staff, we’ve remained nimble, adapting to industry trends and bringing products to market more quickly than you’ll see pretty much anywhere else,” King said.
While any startup is bound to experience growing pains, unreasonably handsome CTO Owen Borseth praised Porkbun for sustaining an environment where employees are allowed to explore their creativity. “This is a genuinely fun place where I get to set my crazy ideas into motion. In 2022, we’re rolling out new products and services, such as our l.ink product. We’ve been blowing minds for seven years now, and I don’t see that stopping any time soon,” Borseth said.
Despite facing tough competition in a crowded market, Porkbun’s continued emphasis on providing top-notch customer support has driven sales in an industry that often views support as an afterthought. “Though our interface is simple to use and understand, configuring domains is a messy business. That’s why everyone on our support staff is a trained DNS and domains industry expert,” Porkbun Director of Operations Ross Brackett said. “The result is quickly diagnosed issues, which leads to customer retention,” Brackett added.
Porkbun was founded in 2015 as a companion registrar for its parent company Top Level Design. The popularity of the interface, top-notch support, and industry-low retail pricing quickly caused the registrar to grow far beyond expectations, culminating in the 1,000,000 domain milestone seen today.
